MY HOBBY: "GAMING"
last but not least, my favorite hobby, gaming
First of all, I'm not addicted to games, it's just something I love to do in my free time. I've been playing
video-games since I was little. I've always enjoyed watching my dad at his computer playing games. I've never
really played on console like Xbox or PlayStation, I've always been playing on a PC. Back in the days I've had a
lot of time to play games, because school was not that hard, but now I barely find any time to sit in front of
my pc and play 1 or 2 rounds of Overwatch. Speaking of it, these are my 2 favorite games at the moment, which I
enjoy the most:
Overwatch: Overwatch (short form "OW") is a team based shooter set on near future earth. You mostly play in
teams of 6 against an other team of 6 players. You can choose from many unique heroes with their own abilites
for an interesting gameplay. I've known about this game for a long time, but was only able to buy it
in summer 2018. Since then I really enjoy playing the game. I often play with friends, which makes the gaming
experience even more fun. 6 friends and I even created a team together and we will be participating in a small
tournament in winter.
osu!: Osu! is free and open-source rhythm game primarily developed, published and created by Dean "peppy"
Herbert. It was released on September 16 2007. Now, there are more than 15 million users worldwide. Osu! is
based on clicking circles to the beat of a song, which a "mapper" has created for people to play that specific
map. To hit a "hitcircle", you have to aim with your mousepointer on it and click with your keyboard, as soon as
the
"approachcircle" reaches the "hitcircle". Watch this
video for more accurate explanations.
There are
currently more than 60'000 ranked beatmaps avaialable for
users to play. If you get a good score
on a beatmap, you will mostly be awarded with "pp", which means "performance points". The player with the most
pp is ranked number 1 in the world. The current first placed player is "WhiteCat", a student from germany, with
roughly 17'400 pp. Me and my friend were talking in a voice-chat, when he told me about this game called "osu!".
He told me it was free and it helps improving my aim, so I downloaded it. At first, I've really struggled to play well, but with time I
started to understand the game mechanics and I became a better player. I've recently became a top 500 player
in Switzerland.
